Let’s start with what not to say. There is an old saying: When in doubt, don’t. If you think you should not say something then there is a pretty good chance that you should NOT say it. The things not to say: Dumb jokes, dumb compliments and dumb observations. What are these? “This guy walks into a bar…”, “You have pretty eyes”, “Great weather we are having”. When you want to open the door to picking her up then you have to knock on the door first.

When you approach a female and you do want to make an observation or a joke or give her a compliment you must be unique to stand out. If you stand out and are different than all the rest you will have her attention and possibly her phone number. Here is a mix of 10 ideas that you can use to hopefully open the conversation up.

1. I saw you staring at me, working up the courage to come over and I thought I would cut you a break.

2. I know you look at me and you only see a handsome, funny, generous guy who likes kids and animals but I am much more than that.

3. Are you a model? I HAVE seen you haven’t I? Have you been on People’s Court?

4. Do you ever date guys who live with their mom? Fine call me in two months.

5. We should have dinner sometime, why don’t you kick down some gas money and…

6. Do you like motorcycles? Me too but right now I have a moped. Do you have a helmet?

7. Can I buy you a drink or a home or something?

8. Do you come here often? Because sometimes I need a ride home.

9. You hotter than most of the girls I hit on so don’t consider this a step down for you but a step up for me.

10. Let’s blow this Popsicle stand I have a pumpkin parked out front princess.

You probably did not learn a thing about observations, joke telling or compliments from my top 10 list but you will see the theme: Keep it simple and funny and sometimes the joke is on you but most importantly you have to be confident when you deliver any line to a female because jokes and puns will only get you so far. You have to be able to keep the conversation going once you get it started so start working on your repertoire. One good way to talk to a girl is to talk to her like one of your friends, if you treat her friendly how else would she treat you?
